A T-shirt was produced to commemorate the delivery of Singapore Airline’s first B747-400 on 18 Mar 1989. The name ‘Megatop’ was bestowed upon this new series of B747 in the airline’s fleet and soon became a household name as the airline became inexplicably associated with the type for the next two decades.
